Noise & Vibration Certification
As people's requirements for quality of life gradually increase, the direction
of product noise and vibration measurement has gradually developed in
two directions in recent years:
Products used directly by users, pursuing ultimate quietness
Products such as tablets, slim laptops, and mobile phones are mostly
introduced fanless designs. At this time, the efficiency of passive heat
dissipation should be considered. The acoustical consideration changes from
traditional cooling fan noise to tiny but sharp electronic annoying noise. This
change adds the difficulty of measurement analysis and the requirements for
higher quality of measurement instruments.
For products that require computing power, pursue an optimal design
that balances the three aspects: heat dissipation, noise, and vibration
For example, server-related products have different cooling treatments
such as pure air cooling, mixed air/water cooling, or pure water cooling.
While pursuing the ultimate computing power, it is still necessary to optimize
the design among noise, vibration, and heat dissipation under different levels
of operation loadings. Some servers installed in unattended server room can
sacrifice certain level of noise or vibration performance to maximize their
computing power. However, for some servers placed in the office area, the
control of noise and vibration becomes much important otherwise it will affect
the comfort of workspace.
PAL has been deeply involved in noise and vibration measurement fields for
many years. We're very familiar with the standards from major ICT brand
companies, component makers, and forum/associations. Our lab is also Dell,
Lenovo, HP, Intel, and Nvidia recognized test 3rd party labs. Moreover, we're
frequently work with some majoy PSU makers to conduct OCP (Open Compute
Project) related test. Our target is to accelerate our customers to conform with
the latest industry requirements to shorten the time to market!
